Less-traveled Rome

For the past few months, Henry and I have been making trips to sites not normally visited on a typical trip to Rome. Although the standard sites are spectacular, it is nice to be able to appreciate these other places without being jostled by dozens of tour groups. I have been obsessively documenting my visits/planned visits using Google maps - click on the links in the sidebar to see the maps.

Sightseeing tips for ancient Rome

Go to the Circus Maximus to see the Palatine Hill.
Go to the Palatine Hill to see the Roman Forum. And, unless you have Will to guide you, don't go to the Roman Forum at all.
