Cat shoes
Shoes for babies are ridiculous, but I had to buy these cat shoes when I was newly pregnant last year since they match our cats (one white and one black). I finally tried them on Henry and they stayed on just long enough to get this photograph.
In other news, my mom taught Henry to say "mama" this week. Both my mom and sister heard it so I'm not imagining it. Henry also started making kissing noises - hopefully I can get both things on video soon.

While the cat's away...
With Jesse off in Rome for the week, Henry stole his spot in the big bed for a morning nap. Not surprisingly, his nap was four times as long as usual since I was right there next to him. I can see why parents crumble and let their kids sleep in their beds, but Henry is thankfully great about sleeping in his crib.

Just in time
We had intended to move Henry to his crib over a month ago, but the first crib arrived damaged so things got delayed. We finally managed to put the crib together this weekend - good thing since our tall boy had nearly outgrown the bassinet. The best part was that Henry slept for twelve hours in the crib with only one brief interlude to eat! Definitely his best night yet. Amazing to look back and see how little he used to be in his bassinet.

Henry enjoys his bath
Henry used to strongly object to having a bath, but now he happily splashes away. He's proven to be especially ticklish under his chin.

Henry rolls the other way
Henry surprised me yesterday by rolling over from his back to his stomach when I wasn't looking. It was pretty surreal to turn around and see him on his stomach! I managed to catch the third roll on video.

Winter Olympics
Based on the success of the Wellfleet Summer Olympics, Wellfleet played host to the five-event Winter Olympics over Thanksgiving.
Callahan, Leo, Simon, and Tate made the scoreboard

A cone race was followed by the team photo contest. Team November Rain won by creating a false downpour:

Then there was a race where the kids led the blindfolded adults:

Another race required each team fill a bucket with sand carried in spoons:

And Team Devilz won the final event,tug-of-war. (Jesse was actually part of the losing team.)

In case this wasn't enough competition, there were also soccer and football games:
